Hughes to be rezoned as “Public Open Lands” at Council Meeting on May 4, 2021
Greetings Hughes Open Space Supporters!
Tonight, the Fort Collins City Council will finally take up the rezoning of the Hughes green space from “Transition” district to “Public Open Lands” district (open space), as directed by the citizens’ ballot initiative that was passed by Fort Collins voters in a landslide on April 6, 2021.
Tonight’s Council meeting will be a hybrid meeting, meaning people can attend and participate either in person inside Council chambers, OR remotely via Zoom. However you prefer to attend, PLEASE tune in and comment in favor of the City Council carrying out the will of the voters to zone Hughes Public Open Lands once and for all!
The Hughes rezoning agenda item number 18 reads as follows:
FIRST READING OF ORDINANCE NO. 069, 2021, AMENDING THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS BY CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF THE HUGHES STADIUM ANNEXATION PROPERTY FROM THE TRANSITION DISTRICT TO PUBLIC OPEN LANDS AS REQUIRED BY THE CITIZEN-INITIATED ORDINANCE PASSED AT THE APRIL 6, 2021, REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION
